7 Tips to Overcoming Any Challenging Goal
| Climbing Stairs as part of Leadership Training (Hehe no, that's not me) |
If there was a challenge, and that is to climb 200 stories in
an hour, would you accept it?
I was challenged, and I accepted. Not that I was confident about my fitness level, I had not been exercising for the longest time.
Somehow, I managed to convince myself that this would motivate me to actually start exercising. However, on the contradictory, nothing happened, I was 'too busy' to train. Soon after accepting the challenge, I have forgotten all about it. Even when I remembered, I had too many excuses to stop me, I just kept thinking I will prepare for the challenge tomorrow, but tomorrow never came.

Dresden
Dresden, the capital of the German federal state of Saxony used to be a beautiful historical city, however, during final months of World War 2, it suffered severe bombings leading to 75% of the city being destroyed. War destroys, I really wish for world peace and that people will stop fighting with each other. After all, with such conflicts, no one wins and we just lose touch with our history and our common humanity.
Dresden has about ten million tourists a year, most of them from Germany. Dresden is a stop between Prague and Berlin.
| Dresden became a city in 1206 and recently celebrated its 800th birthday in 2006. |
Though beautiful, most of the buildings that have been reconstructed.
I was only in Dresden for a day trip. If you are ever there, I would highly recommend that you visit the Frauenkirche, the Church of Our Lady. The original church was completely destroyed during World War 2 and whatever you see standing now has been reconstructed.

Leipzig
Leipzig is in Germany and is a city 150 km south of Berlin. Although Leipzig is not as renowned as other German cities like Berlin and Munich, it bears its own charm. It is a place which carries historical significance and is where musician/composer Johann Sebastian Bach lived from 1723 to his death in 1750. This makes Leipzig a MUST-VISIT for fans of Bach and musicians.
For me, coming to Leipzig was entirely by chance. It was the destination assigned to me by Germanwings when we tried our luck at blindbooking.
When you are in Leipzig, you will have to visit the Bach Museum. It is inspiring to learn about Bach's journey to become a world renowned musician/composer. Although I am not that into classical music, it's pretty cool visiting the church where he once played his music, and visiting the site where he was buried. I am in awe and respect for this man who, after more than 200 years of his death, his legacy lives on.

The Rose - Death is the Only Certainty
Today, I saw the rose on the table which my boyfriend has given me on Valentine's Day. Something was different about it. It was no longer vibrant. It has died. Mold has grown on it and a dull, brownish color of death and decay has replaced the once fragrant and bright pinkish rose.
A weird sensation overwhelmed me.
How can something so beautiful be reduced to this in a matter of weeks. As I examined it, it reminded me of my own mortality. As I threw the rose away, it reminded me that things, no matter how grand/beautiful/good they are, will be gone one day.
Before we continue, join me in paying tribute to the Rose.

How to Influence people and Sell them your Idea
As you know, I am really passionate about self-improvement, inspiring people to lead a better life, making people happy etc. It excites me whenever I see an opportunity for them to be inspired. The problem is that, sometimes I get overly excited doing so and people start to perceive me as being too pushy. This turns people off.
Because of my poor skills to convince and influence people, I have been ruining several relationships with people around me. People have become wary of me, do not talk to me as much.
But through these bad experiences, I have gained some insights which I hope to share with you so you won't make the same mistakes as me!

I am guilty of Procrastination!
I have to confess.
I have been lazy again. I gave in to the tiny voices in my head and kept procrastinating when it comes to updating my blog. What am I avoiding? Why is it that time and time again, I have this burst of energy at the beginning and then this energy dwindles off after a while...why is it so difficult to sustain this energy?
Have you ever felt this way? Being so excited about something at the beginning and when you finally kick-start it, you find it hard to sustain it- you start to procrastinate.
